Systems Engineer / Rendlesham

Are you a Systems/Electronics Engineer looking for a varied role where you will play an integral part in the success of a well-established and rapidly growing company?


This role would suit a recent graduate keen to develop your skills and knowledge.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Systems Engineer will perform systems engineering and design activities through all stages of the development life cycle, from requirements management, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation through to acceptance testing. You will gain exposure to other engineering disciplines and business areas as part of a friendly and supportive team. And will enjoy the responsibility of ensuring that engineering solutions and documentation are delivered which meet and exceed cost, quality and schedule requirements meeting the company's vision of Delivering Global Excellence by Design.

Key Accountabilities:
• On Time in full delivery and On-Budget delivery of all project milestones
• Generating accurate and complete documentation for colleagues and other organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design of products from customer requirements.
• Requirements management, test specification, verification and validation, risk analysis, system integration, electronic systems and interfaces.
• Design work, component selection, electrical wiring schematics and panel/wiring drawings.
• Effectively and proactively manage own workflow.
• Lead new programs / products through the NPI process to ensure on cost, on time & to specification.
• Create standard operating procedures and manufacturing instructions
• Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained
• Support with the changes required for both continuous improvement and mandatory requirements during this exciting time of growth and improvement of the business
• Provide support to the project team for preparing quotes.
• Assist in product development activities and tendering activities
• Establish recurring and non-recurring costs
• Working with our suppliers to find technical solutions to engineering problems.
• Attend customer project meetings as required. These may be off site.
• To action problem reports and raise necessary permits as required.
• Keeping line manager informed of current task status.
• Support Commercial and QA departments with quotations & 1st article inspections
• Working with the ERP database, on routings, BOMs etc
• Direct contact with customers regarding engineering design and production issues.
• Any other tasks detailed by management.

 

The Person:
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject, ie. Electronics Engineering
• Understanding of the system design process
• An engineering and technology enthusiast
• A problem solver with an analytical approach
•A self-starter who gets things done

• A collaborator with excellent communications skills

 

Essential Experience:

• Electronic systems and interfacing
• Programming
• Electrical design
Experience of additional interest:
• GUI integration
• Vehicle Systems
• Surveillance Systems
• Working knowledge of the main engineering disciplines (Electrical/Electronic Design, Software Design and Mechanical Packaging Design)

Skills:
• Must have strong communication skills
• Strong analytical skills,
• A logical approach

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

Hours: Mon - Thurs 08.00 - 17.00hrs (30 minutes lunch) and Fri 08.00 - 12.45hrs
