Full Time, Permanent – Degree Level Apprenticeship
We have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring engineer to join our Engineering team in Salisbury and undertake a fully funded Level 6 Electromechanical Engineering Degree. The job role will start straight away, giving the successful applicant time in the business to learn about various roles and skills, with the degree level course commencing September 2027.
This five-year programme combines practical, hands-on experience with academic study, enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in engineering. The qualification is delivered through blended learning, including approximately four weeks per year on site at the university. No previous engineering experience is required. We are looking for motivated individuals who demonstrate dedication, enthusiasm, and a commitment to learning.
To be considered for this opportunity, you need:
- A minimum of 3 A Levels at Grade B or above (or an equivalent qualification) including Mathematics, or a previous level 3 apprenticeship/ relevant industry experience - assessed on a case-by-case basis and will require a maths test to A level standard
- GCSE Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in engineering
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, alongside the ability to work independently
- Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment

Main Responsibilities Once Qualified:
- Generate production manufacturing data (Manufacturing Instructions / Jigs / Fixtures) from customer drawings
- Working with our suppliers to find technical solutions to engineering problems
- Analysing operational issues from lessons learnt sessions to improve design for manufacture and assembly
- Demonstrate that the manufacturing process has delivered in terms of costs, quality, and cycle times
- Design of products from customer requirements
- Successfully manage and deliver the electro / mechanical system designs from concept to detail design on time and within quality requirements, and within project financial constraints
- Set test requirements appropriate for the product being tested
- Present concepts and solutions to the customer, which may include the British MOD
